Negatives happen, fails occur. They are not signals to quit in all instances, or even most. They are grist for our respective mills. You might have three months or thirty years experience in an industry but you’re going to make mistakes, you’re going to have failures. It is not the end of the world.

What’s Not To Like About Micro ISV Fails? Release Early? You’re Doing It Wrong!

Regular readers will remember June 2008 where a bunch of software developers elected to “build a product in 30 days”. Kind of the bungee jumping of rapid release and marketing. Those that followed will also be aware that only a handful of developers actually made it to the end in the sense that they actually released a product.
2009 Epic Fail. Glad Its Over. Towards 2010

If 2008 was a good year, and in many ways it was for me, 2009 was an Epic Fail. I mean EPIC. It began with good intentions. An application to finish that was six months overdue and the core of my start-up. By years end I’d made less progress than in the last six months [...]
Google, DNS Geo-Location, Delisting, Moving Servers, SERP, Blind Mice And I've Run Out Of Patience

I’ve been happy enough to talk on this blog, in a number of articles, about how writing content for my own websites propels them rather nicely into at least page one, if not in the first few results of page one, on Google painlessly and consistently. So it’s only fair that I also talk about the converse – the opposite – when it happens. I’m referring to the sickening lurch that’s began just over a few months ago on Google. Hard to spot because at first it’s not across the board. Nope, it’s been slow, gathering momentum since April, into May and then the BOOM! in June. What am I waffling on about?
June 2007 – June 2009 377 Days – Can We Go To Release For July 29th?
by Scott Kane on June 12, 2009 in 30Dayers
I’ve decided to try to do the same thing starting Monday 15th of June 2009 through to July 29th 2009. If I fail to do so this time…I still honestly believe time periods of 30 days etc are generally bad news for development cycles. In this instance I’m literally bringing the pieces together into the UI and connecting them with glue and code.
